The Opioid Crisis in WNY: Part 1 Community Intervention and Narcan Training

Between 2014 and 2015 the number of opioid attributed deaths doubled in Erie County. This trend is continuing in all corners of Erie County and thousands are at risk. 

Join Science Demands Action, The Buffalo March for Science, and the Erie Niagara Area Health Education Center on December 4th at 6pm to learn more about what everyone can do to end the opioid epidemic in Western New York. 

The Erie County Department of Health's Commissioner of Health Dr. Gale Burstein will discuss the scope of the threat in Erie County and what measures we can support. Debra Smith of the Opioid Epidemic Task Force will share the impact of the crisis on families. Cheryll Moore of the Erie County Department of Health will lead the group in a narcan training session with free kits for you to take home.
